In general, the pipes that shape of it similar to corrugated pipe and outside layer has continues ridge so that the Profile of the pipe uniformly twisted from the beginning up to the end of it is called corruspiral pipe. This kind of pipes has, almost, the same physical characteristics and advantages of corrugated pipes and the only differences are in connections and type of production.
One of the advantage of these pipes is the range of production both in diameter and stiffness. According to the type of production there is a possibility to change height, shape, and distances of the Profiles which resulting to production of the variety of stiffness in the specific diameter of the pipe. According to the fact that the condition of backfilling and installation is differ in each project, production of Corruspiral for the projects has these advantages:
Cost efficiency of product for customer
According to the static calculation which is done for each project, the produced pipe from one side has ideal stiffness characteristic for that project with required standards and from another side it produced with lower raw material which is result to lowest price for that project.
It must be mention that, not only, the static calculation achieves required stiffness of the pipe for tolerating traffic (Dynamic) and static load but also, it will consider the confidence coefficient which is defined in international standards.
High speed installation
According to the fact that human force is one of the main items in installation. Low usage of raw material will make the pipe lighter and in result the pipe can be easily installed which reduce the cost and increase the speed of installation. This issue has a significant impact on the total cost of the project.
The type of installation in these pipes are:
Socket and spigot
In this type, the spigot of one pipe will insert to the socket of the other and the ring which is placed in socket will sealing the connection. This type will install faster but it’s recommended to be done for the pipes with the diameter of 1000 mm or lower.
For this kind of connection, installation team make (V) or in some cases (Double-v) shape to the edge of the end side of the pipes and make wielding by extruder wielding machine to this part. The wielding of these sides are made from PE. So, tensile and compressive strength in the wielded area has no difference with other part of the pipes.
In this kind of connection, socket and spigot for two sides of pipe is constructed and the electrofusion wire is placed inside of the socket or outside of the spigot. After entrance of the spigot side of the pipe to socket side of the other pipe, the pressure should be provided to the surrounding of the socket side. At the same time the current in the wire will make the surrounding PE melted. After cooling down, the pipes will connect to each other.
